THE BATHHOUSE
A PRIVATE SANCTUARY IN MOSAIC
VIEW 01 — COLD POOL
A STUDY IN MOSAIC DISCIPLINE
A continuous mosaic wrap across cold pool, hot pool, day room and bathroom. A look at how alignment, proportion and surface accuracy hold the entire environment together.
VIEW 02 — MITRE & MODULE RESOLUTION
MITRED TO FULL MODULES
Every edge, mitre, corner and step was mapped in advance, so the finish landed cleanly to full tile modules. All mitres were formed in epoxy grout and polished fingertip smooth throughout, leaving the transitions seamless, refined and exact.
VIEW 03 — SURFACE ACCURACY
ALL PLANES MADE TRUE
The entire bathhouse was screeded flat, plumb and level across every floor and wall plane for clean alignment across every change of surface. The six-metre straight edge in view sets the standard: a surface accurate enough for a seamless mosaic wrap.
VIEW 04 — JOINT ALIGNMENT AT SCALE
ALIGNMENT CONTROL
With over 700,000 individual units laid as paper-faced sheets, even 1mm of drift will compound. Where grout joints must flow through walls, floors and corners, discipline at the smallest scale dictates stability at the largest.
VIEW 05 — CURVED OPENING DETAIL
RADIUS POLISHED CLEAN
The circular opening required every glass mosaic unit to be individually cut to the radius. Each exposed edge was then machine-polished smooth to the fingertip until nothing sharp remained.
VIEW 06 — PERMANENCE
METHOD THAT ENDURES
What you have seen is not simply surface decoration. It is control carried through every stage — from underlying planes to the smallest finished detail. Modern materials can extend performance. But the method behind the finish determines whether the work endures for generations.

XL SHEET FORMAT
The clean finish of control at scale.
Measure, cut and commit — at this scale, placement allows far less margin for correction.
Straightness
Grout line adjustment here keeps mosaics flowing freely.
Uniformity
100% adhesive coverage must be consistent and disciplined.
Flatness
The accuracy of the finished surface is set at this levelling stage.
Substrate
Crack isolation, structural stability and adhesion are controlled here.

Bisazza mosaics
The home entryway was laser screeded from doorway to polished concrete, so the surface reflection flows with consistency: FLATNESS.
ZERO TOLERANCE
At this scale, drift is immediately visible.
Uniform troweling controlled bedding depth across the plane: UNIFORMITY.
Mosaic horizontal alignment was corrected by hand before curing: STRAIGHTNESS.
locked the result: PERMANENCE.
